Dark Intensity On The Rise
Manny Martinez. Is this a familiar name to you? It may not be quite yet, but it will be soon! Manny is a trance producer in Anaheim California, who greatly enjoys expressing his art in the form of sound. He specializes in remixing popular tracks, as well as composing and producing his own original material. Manny, also known as Dark Intensity, is greatly inspired by music, all genres, and he doesn’t miss an opportunity to improvise at any given opportunity!

DI has had many inspirations to motivate his love for making music, including Armin Van Buren, Paul Oakenfold and Kaskade. Other talented inspirational influences have been Mannys cousin DJ Solorio from Bakerfield CA and a talented music producer from Las vegas named Mindful Innovations. They have shared their music experience and expertise, allowing DI the opportunity to learn, grow and produce his own unique expressions in music. Dark Intensitys start musically came in 2000. He started experimenting and educating himself about music and the layouts and arrangement and then started exploring further with programs such as FL Studio (also known as Fruity Loops). He currently still uses FL Studio 9 Producer Edition on all his musical productions.
DI’s production of a track begins with accute listening of details and then composing the track with a new melody, bassline and rhythm that comes from within himself. His great passion and love for music are what help create the new sounds he is able to produce. Once he finds the acapella for the track, he plays it set to an appropiate bpm and begins experimenting with different sounds, sounds that are in his mind at the time. If he can’t find the acapella for the track, he makes one himself, using the original song. DI uses software such as Adobe Audition to filter out most of the low end instruments as much as possible, and then masks whats left of the original instruments with his own instruments and sounds.
When Dark Intensity produces his music, his inspiration comes from using the little things in life-sight and things heard, using visuals and listening to every little sound around him. Example, if he hears the sound of little rain drops fall from the sky, it inspires him to create a sad theme, If he is at the beach soaking up the sun, he creates an upbeat feel to the track. etc. DI enjoys creating a go-with-the-flow theme, making music tell a story in the instrumentals playing.
Some of Dark Intensitys latest mixes include Lady Gaga’s Monster, Travis McCoys Billionaire and an original trance creation just released yesterday called Loud Silence. (You can find these on the official channels mentioned above)
DI feels Electronic Dance Music Culture is blowing up big and feels it is about to get bigger in the next few years. His hopes are to hear other genres such as Pop, Rock, and Rap sneaking in a little electro and trance elements. He believes dance remixes in top 40 is important for the club scene, and is a huge influence on new music to come as it seems music today is rapidly transitioning into dance. DI seems to be in the right place at the right time! He recently entered a remix contest for Kaskade and finished at the top of the voting list for his Dynasty remix.
