Last night I was surfing reddit on my phone when I saw an interesting post in /r/DJs. User joeap posted a screenshot of an email from Soundcloud stating that his mixtape he uploaded contained copyrighted content and thus could no be published. I’ve run in to similar issues and have attached a screenshot below. In the comments, many users commiserated and lamented while others recommended migrating to Mixcloud. The interesting thing about that is, why doesn’t Mixcloud give you the same beef over copyrighted content? Another relevant question – do …

Recently Chuckie took over Pete Tong’s show on BBC Radio 1 and dropped this little teaster of Afrojack’s upcoming piece Lionheart. It still has his signature dutch house sound but to me it’s a little darker and deeper than most Afrojack tracks. This is of course rather low quality as it’s only a preview but release deets will be coming soon I’m sure. Enjoy!

Jack Beats are notorious for their hyperactive fidget house sound, but their new piece End Of Love not only features that fidget beat but also has some HEAVY bass wobble. I think they’re on the frontier of something new – fidgetstep? Who knows.
The End Of Love EP drops December 5th, complete with remixes – stay tuned for that!

There are some tracks that I post and don’t even feel worthy enough. They’re just that legendary. Eric Prydz’ remix of Circles from Digitalism is certainly no exception, and I even have a little bonus remix for you as well.
These are both great tracks with a lot of, dare I say, spiritual energy in them. Listen to them and you’ll quick experience just what I am talking about!

You know how when you eat WAY too much food, have that realization, then immediately want to take a nap? That’s kinda how this track is. The wobble is so chunky and thick that it fills you up instantly. I love the theme going on here by the way, the track is called Supreme and it’s on the Pizza Party EP Deep Dish.

Daniel Portman is easily one of my favorite progressive house producers and it’s sad that he doesn’t get in the spotlight as often as other artists. Maybe he prefers it that way, or maybe people simply just don’t enjoy his unique style of prog house. Regardless, I love blogging about him because I feel that with each post, I give even more people the chance to check out his music!
If you’re new to Daniel Portman, then don’t forget to check out his classic songs Open Your Mind and Dark Is …
