Pandora’s New “Genre Stations”

I’ve long been a user of the Internet radio station Pandora.com. I was immediately drawn to the freedom to create stations based on my favorite artists and the ability to completely fine-tune my station specifics. Being one of the first of its kind, it truly has revolutionized that way we listen to music (both online and offline).
Recently, Pandora added a feature called “genre stations” – which basically means each genre of music (electronica, hip-hop, country, etc) has it’s own radio station. This feature is not necesarily new; they simply revamped …

Sweet Shop – The Remixes

“Sweet Shop” by Doctor P is perhaps one of the most well known dubstep tracks, and most certainly one of the first big grime / filth tracks to really gain mass attention. The YouTube upload has over 750,000+ views at the time of this post.
We are fortunate enough to have two Circus Records promos, both of which are remixes of Sweet Shop.

Deadmau5 To Perform @ 2010 MTV VMA Awards

MTV has announced today that electro house artist Deadmau5 will  be performing and “DJing” for the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.
Sure the exposure is GREAT for his sales but in my honest opinion I don’t think it will do anything for his production. Many fans already feel that his production quality is going down hill, and I don’t think 100,000 new MTV-crazed fans will add anything to his name.
I’m glad for Deadmau5′s success but I don’t think electro / house music has any place on MTV Networks. With Deadmau5 DJing …

Tomba’s New EP ‘Freshly Squeezed Jews’ Out August 7th

The renowned dubstep producer Tomba is set to release his much anticipated EP early August, probably after his release party on the 6th. The EP is going to be released on Borgore’s new online store and label, aptly named BuyGore. It is going to feature such bangers as Disturbed, Herpes and The Goblin (featuring Shay). It’s been set back since around May and I have been on the edge of my seat ever since I heard the news.
Interestingly, Tomba’s roots didn’t start in the dubstep soil; he was originally a …

Daily News 7/15/10

Reddit.com users requested that deadmau5 post in the AMA subreddit. For those not familiar, the /r/AMA section stands for Ask Me Anything, where people with interesting lives/careers field questions from reddit users. The mau5 himself declined rather bluntly via his Facebook (the post has since been deleted). Reddit users were a bit shocked by his response whereas some users understood where he was coming from and sympathized.
Dubstep DJ and internet sensation InspectorDubplate had his YouTube account deleted for supposed “copyright infringement.” The irony here is his videos were listed on the …

From the blog:
It is our great privilege to announce that STS9′s latest release “Axe the Cables” drops next Tuesday June 29th!
First a little background…

RJD2 – Inversions of the Colossus

Electronic hip/hop artist RJD2 dropped his new album Inversions of the Colossus yesterday. However, it is not an entirely new album. Here’s why:
The intent behind “Inversions of the Colossus” lies halfway between the classic in-between albums EP, and an instrumental version of “the Colossus”. So there were 7 vocal songs on “the Colossus”, and I knew that releasing instrumentals of these would be smart. After all, a lot of people buy rjd2 albums for the production, not for the vocals-just being honest here! SO-all of those 7 songs become instrumental versions …

Rusko Streaming New Album on Myspace

Rusko is now streaming his new album, OMG!, on his Myspace. I’ve given his new tracks a listen and all I have to say is, well… OMG! The album as a whole has a much more mature and professional sound to it. Rusko is definitely on top of his game.
Don’t let me be the judge. Give a listen for yourself:

Sonny Moore –  ex-front man of the band emo/screamo From First to Last turned dubstep genius?
