After putting together a minimix not too long ago, Californian producer Minnesota has put together a new 3-track EP entitled Astral Projection that puts together a certain breed of glitch-hop tracks that bring together atmospheric out-of-this world and psychedelic vibes. Stylistically similar to fellow Californian MiM0SA, Christian Bauhofer (the real name behind Minnesota) has really outdone himself with this one.
After putting out more upbeat bangers like Bass Power, Minnesota provides a full-bodied experience with this release. Blending glitch-hop with some serious sub-bass vibes and the aforementioned space-styled vibes, with only three tracks …

The world of glitch hop doesn’t get nearly as much attention as the rest of the EDM world. That’s not to say it doesn’t have a large underground following – it just doesn’t have the mass appeal of say David Guetta or Avicii.
Eliot Lipp is one of those people, the Brooklyn, NY based artist who cranks out some trippy hop hop beats that have some electronica STS9/Lotus style synths infused in them. The Sunset is the single off his upcoming album Shark Wolf Rabbit Snake coming out on May 22nd …

Taking a track from one of the best releases thus far in the year, Toronto-based Keys N Krates has put their own unique spin on Zeds Dead’s track, No Prayers. The trio has taken their clear hip-hop influences with this one, with the trap-like snare rolls and rising synths. While this isn’t necessarily belongs on this site, it is damn good and worth a couple listens.

Free n Losh has quickly become an ElectroJams favorite. With their diverse production style and almost headstrong resistance to stay within any genre-limitations, the young Toronto duo has a bright future ahead of them as they continue to explore and define their sound. After their earlier releases of nu-disco/electro house Meanwhile in the Batcave… and Reg Mackworthy, they have taken another direction.
Bringing their eclectic tastes in music together, they are forging a sound that can resonate with lovers of electronic music and hip-hop heads alike. As the wave of young creativity …

It’s always a good day when Derek Vincent Smith, the man behind Pretty Lights, releases a new track. His first offering since “We Must Go On“, “You Get High” is an exciting glitch hop track, complete with classic PL-warped vocals, drumline percussion, and badass bass. Derek writes of the track, “”You Get High” is a new style hip-hop jam that incorporates what I think sounds like a slow-mo disco stomp. It’s soulful and funky at the same time and it’s all about the high you feel when listening to good music.” …

Boulder, CO has continued to entrench itself as one of the premier hubs of EDM in North America. One of the more notable acts to come out of the snow-capped college town has been Paper Diamond. After his debut Levitate released on fellow Coloradan Pretty Lights’ label PLM, Paper Diamond has got a new free 3-track EP entitled Wavesight dropping via Jeffrees, a sublabel of Diplo’s Mad Decent.
Different from Levitate, this new EP brings a notably more energetic and harder sound that is complemented by some great lighter synths. This new EP shows Diamond’s …

It’s been less than a year since his last album, but he couldn’t wait to unleash a whole new batch. It’s been said that Bassnectar has adjusted his sound to fit a more party-ready, mainstream sound in an effort to win fans, but we don’t think that is the case. Lorin Ashton, the man behind Bassnectar, still brings his own unique form of bass music only now fans are catching on in throngs. His brand of “omnitempo maximalism” is really on display here with his new album, Va Va Voom, …

Pretty Lights Music artist, Gramatik has come out with a new funky EP, #digitalfreedom. The EP is 6 tracks long, with Glitch-Hop, Dubstep, and even a Nu-Disco track. The EP has been released today and is available on the Pretty Lights Music website or, here, for a free download The EP is inspired by the controversial and over-reaching bills SOPA and PIPA that the U.S. government has recently attempted to pass into law. Gramatik has brought a heavy vibe with this new EP, a variation from his soul-infused glitch-hop beats …

Run DMT, of Bass Drum fame has now put out a sampler via Facebook, and included in that pack is a killer remix by ElectroJams favorite, Bassnectar. The remix gives the original a new circus vibe to it with crazy glitchy wobbles, high pitched melodies, and an overall crunkified to it. The track is sure to make into Lorin’s sets on his upcoming Va Va Voom tour this spring. Check out Sugarcube (Bassnectar Remix) here!

I’m sure you knew already, but next month (April) Bassnectar is scheduled to drop his full length album Vava Voom. He’s uploaded a teaser video to YouTube which shows off the album in its entirety. I think this album really demonstrates the most significant fusion of modern hip hop and old school breaks than any of his previous releases.
