Tiësto: In The Booth – Episode 4 (Paris, Marrakech & Ibiza)

Watch as Tiësto battles to make it to two shows in one night! Oh, and did we mention the first is in Paris, France and the second in Marrakech, Morocco?! So, after playing in Paris, it’s a fast run right from the stage to the waiting limo, and straight to the private jet standing by to get to the show in Morocco. Despite some minor hiccups along the way, Tiësto makes it back to Europe and ends the week in style with the closing party if his 2011 residency at Privilege in Ibiza.

Pretty Lights – We Must Go On

Derek Vincent Smith, aka Pretty Lights, aka Andre the Giant, aka the unofficial god of glitch hop music, is back at it again. After immaculately fusing country with dubstep in “Country Roads”, delightfully remixing Led Zeppelin in “Dazed and Confused”, and then coming out of nowhere with a smokin’ hot dubstep release, “I Know the Truth”, Pretty Lights is rightfully blowing up. Not only is he tearing it up with the studio production, his live show is a multisensory, luminously sublime experience, hence the above photo. Smith brings us this new track which is a return to his older style: an amalgam of jazz, soft rock, hip hop, funk, and soul! It’s awesome to see him experimenting with dubstep and heavier tracks, but I love the fact that he’s still got that soft side to his production. Here’s a choon for the late night chillin’. Look out for a new PL album soon as Derek is currently locked down in the studio, and get ready to see him light up the stage at Ultra Music Festival.

That’s a once in a lifetime kind of opportunity. The guys known as Cazzette have put together this little video to highlight some of the madness that went down at Pier 94 on NYE 2011.

Datsik New Visuals Teaser

Over the last year, EDM artists and especially dubstep artists have really stepped up their visuals. It used to be just a guy with his mixers and some lasers, maybe a projection screen if you were lucky. But now dubstep artists have been introducing some really innovating technology into their live shows, such as Skrillex and his 3D visuals / mapping, and now it’s high time that Datsik joined in on the action.

The video is short, and doesn’t show too much. I’d say it looks like Datsik has gotten himself a big glowing logo on the front of his DJ stand as well as nicely sized LED screen behind him, allowing for some potentially beat-synced visuals.
