Do you find any relationship between entheogenic drugs such as MDMA and LSD and the electronic music scene? Do you believe that they somehow fuel each other, or at least go hand in hand?
I believe these drugs help us to tap into parts of our mind that would otherwise go unnoticed. Those unknown or unfamiliar parts of our minds naturally manifest themselves in art. Do you need to be on drugs to create this music? Certainly not. Do you need to be on drugs to appreciate this music? No, but it helps. I think the electronic music culture by being so different and cutting edge will always either actively or passively promote the use of psychedelics in one way or another. Once someone is ready to accept something like glitch, dubstep, or trance as their favorite genre, im sure they are educated enough to know the repercussions of drug use and encourage it.
Interesting points, and I really think you said it best here:

Because I have taken drugs like MDMA and LSD, I feel like I can appreciate all types of music, not just strictly electronic. It's almost like I can think about how the music would sound or affect me if I were on the drug, and that's how I get into it. Also, great way to put it SiS:

Ive only done LSD twice same with shrooms, but as a psychology major i can say music activates so many different parts of our brain on both the left and right side, and as many of you know LSD shorts out the brain making you "see sound" so thats actually literally true that it "taps into you mind"
In my opinion drugs make music an experience. Most of the time i only listen to music but drugs make me feel music. I feel like words dont describe it well, but some of the best times of my life were going out on late night country drives with a few blunts and friends.

I completely agree Jubu. There have been countless times where I have connected with music like never before just sitting in my room late at night stoned. The experience you have is truly amazing, and I absolutely love it.
I'm agreeing with everyone here. It's really an unexplainable feeling to have a really deep high while listening to music. You experience the music in such a new and unique way it's incredible. Also for me, smoking a bowl before I open up Reason and start producing makes me create music that is so much more complex and active. It's kind of hard to explain, but all I can say is that drugs and music go together like a fat kid and cake.
Haha. I'm glad you all see psychedelic drugs for their mind-expanding purposes. Nothing bothers me more than when kids take drugs merely to have the experience of getting "fucked up."
Now that I'm somewhat 'older' and have a family, I probably will only take entheogens at low doses at shows and whatnot just to enhance my experience. Gone are the ways are getting high in my bedroom haha.
both kinda help release unwanted energy. or, re-harmonize.. so yeah!
