Ha I've seen that pic before. I've got to find a girl who is cool with psychedelics. My last long-term girlfriend hated that I was attracted to the psychedelic state of mind...

I definitely hear you there. My current GF is seriously the best person in the world and I am completely in love with her. I could probably be with her forever... She just doesn't understand the world of psychedelics at all...

Yeah man it would be a total win if she was into it. As long as you get her to understand that you're cool if she's not into it, but you are from time to time...
Near the end of my relationship (dated the girl for 5 years) she viewed psychedelic use as "immature." We always clashed on it which was really a bummer over time.
I always viewed psychedelics as a tool if used the right way and she never understood. Not only did she not understand but she tried to make me feel guilty about it. But of course she was cool with drinking wine, which makes you stupid and messes with your liver (I drink alcohol too, just saying.)

Kitch, I definitely hear you there. My girlfriend and I have reached a "agree to disagree" conclusion. She has smoked pot in her younger years (quite heavily actually) but now associates marijuana and all other drugs with her younger, immature years.
She understands where I am coming from when I talk about how psychedelics can be beneficial if used appropriately but at the same time she doesn't understand. And I respect her viewpoint too: We are getting older, in college, working (almost) full time, and we have A LOT at risk. We both work in the medical/mental health field and our employers have strict drug testing policies. Two random employees are drug tested every month, so...

Most employers don't test for psychedelics but I know what you're saying. Definitley not worth risking your career over. I've been in the process of job searching and haven't smoked pot for almost a year. But in that span of time I've tripped a few times.
I really think women and men are just wired differently with certain things. Typically women and men think about the future in different ways. Obviously everyone is different though...
All that matters in your situation is that you each are willing to compromise and respect each others opinions, because if there are fundamental differences between people they tend to just get worse over time. I'm not even that extreme with things. I don't abuse psychedelics but was always drawn to psychedelics and the culture/music surrounding them. The fact that my girlfriend hated that side of me hindered my growth in a way. I'm willing to compromise if it's a reasonable request. For example, if I was tripping all the time and losing a grip with the rest of my life/losing focus, etc. then I would understand where she is coming from. But that was never the case in my situation...

^^ Some serious insight right there.
I like the balance between my gf and I though. My girlfriend listens to country 24/7 but she LOVES IT when I play dubstep in the car (with the subwoofer and all). So it feels good for me that I'm able to show her cool stuff and likewise I am always able to gain her perspective on something that I never would have experienced ordinarily.
