I understand and I appreciate the support.

I had an update Friday night but I wanted to wait until I had the time to write about it.
Apparently, the cops/investigators lied about not prosecuting him for anything they find. Though they did find 2 LBS so I can't blame them. Apparently the robbers left some behind and he didn't realize when he was giving his friend all of his incriminating stuff. Also, they counted some of this home grown he has and thrown it into the weight. Now that's kind of sad, the fact that despite the homegrown being as effective as grass, with barely any THC in it, it still gets counted. I told him it's a compliment to his home grown though.

I also got some more details about his injuries, they actually broke his rib and he had to get stitches on the back of his head. They were also trying to choke him , for some reason that scares me the most. Thankfully he finally got some decent medication from the doctors at least.

So they threw him in jail for about 24hrs, no bail though. The charge is either a very low class felony or it could be dropped to a misdemeanor. It's just crazy though that these people who almost murdered him are free walking the streets and my Dad is the one who now has to get his lawyer involved to defend him.
Also, he showed them the 10k they didn't take and the cops finished cleaning him out by taking his cash. Hopefully he gets this money back, I was able to get the $300-500 they stole from me before.

When they stole my money, they said they'd have a drug dog sniff it for drugs. I was telling them how unfair it was since the money wasn't even near the drugs and that it's been proven that all money has trace amounts of drugs on them so maybe they should have the dogs sniff the same amount of money from their own collection.

So they locked him up, didn't give him any water the entire time AND get this, they even arrested his ex-wife who hasn't even lived with him for like over five years. It says her last known residence was his apartment though, so apparently she's involved. Not only does he have to pay for all of his legal shit but now hers too.

I told him the silver lining is that now everyone is calling him and showing their concern, demanding he move down south to be here with us. It's just going to take longer than expected for him to visit us since now he has this court crap to deal with.

So I was talking to him and he starts bringing up how he saw something on TV the other day. Instantly I knew it was the Penn & Teller Bullshit episode about Criminal Justice and we both were really able to relate to the whole episode. I told him how I pretty much cried throughout watching the entire thing and how I don't usually pray but I made an effort to at least hope he was alright when I found out he was arrested.
My brother was a real dick about it too telling me "What do you expect?" and "He's a big boy, he can handle himself"
At least my other brother, who is also a born again, was able to show a little god damn sympathy.

What's also going to be hard is him going back to work. He's currently on unpaid vacation and he has two weeks of paid vacation later this year. Luckily he's in the union and a delegate so the felony/arrest doesn't seem to have any real consequences there. He works as a purchasing agent/stocker for Ciprani's in Manhattan, I say this because it's an intense job that is very physically demanding and with his injuries I hope they don't interfere with that.

He also says now that he doesn't think it was his old friend anymore but his new Jamaican guy. It'd be hard to imagine his old friend, who experienced the same trauma of having a gun to his head.. would ever try and put anyone else in that situation. His old friend also knew our entire family whereas no one met this new guy.

I think I pretty much squeezed all the news out of this that I could remember. If anything else comes up I'll try and stay up to date here.
what a big pile of shit going on there. dont expect things to end fair as soon as the cops are involved. no offence to any1 related to a cop but the vast majority are pricks and too burnt out by their jobs to stay fair in most of the situations.

again a big sorry from my side and the best wishes to you and your father.
Wow man, long post but I read all of it. Reading your post made me realize how screwy our justice system is - just one of the may problems we Americans face.

Sounds like your dad should make a full recovery, and yeah, he oughtta move down south with you guys! lol...
Drama ensues...
Today I get a call from NY, a number I never saw before. I was kind of worried it was my Dad from jail but I guess he just got a new number or phone due to paranoia...
Well, the paranoia seems to be justified as he was calling me to tell me that his friend in upstate NY had just been arrested.
He thinks this is connected so he told me to hide, bury, finish whatever I have to do to anything I incriminating I possess. I was just about done but I was going to save some for a concert, I guess it's best I just try and clean out my paraphernalia.
Wow, jeez... Well definitely get rid of anything incriminating! No sense in adding another victim to this mess. =\

Yeah forget the violent offenders, we have SERIOUS things like marijuana to deal with Confused

Our government is all fucking out of whack. Hope his charges end up as a misdemeanor & not a felony.

Hope you're dealing with this OK, I'm a few bucks short on rent or don't have my car for a couple days & I become a big ball of anxiety, I don't think I could ever deal with something like that.
