I couldn’t be happier today to bring you a new remix of Deadmau5‘s recent production, “The Veldt”, by one of UC Berkeley’s own, Patrick Rogers, or Rogus as he is known. Finding a happy medium between the mau5′s teasing 3 minute radio edit and his luscious, though lengthy, 8 minute extended edit, Rogus’s take on “The Veldt” is a comfortable six minutes that just feels right. It amplifies the elegance of the original with lovely choral resonance, giving the track space to breathe. The accompanying piano and synth melodies crafted by …

The mau5 took to Twitter today to offer some photo evidence of how he almost went up in flames:“Holy crap!!! Remember that explosion that nearly f’n killed me in NYC!?!? Now with pic!”
Canadian star Deadmau5 has narrowly avoided an on-stage incineration, following a bit of impromptu pyro in the booth at New York’s Provocateur nightspot. The mau5 was on a quick weekend club tour with his ‘Unhooked’ set-up which included New York, Chicago and his Las Vegas residency at XS.
According to The New York Post, the near-death-experience happened when the …

We originally featured a Summer Festival Guide here on ElectroJams exactly a month ago. And today, we bring you another edition featuring the top Canadian EDM festivals to come around this summer. While the U.S. has had some of the top festivals in the world for the last couple years with Ultra and EDC, the Canadians certainly don’t hold any punches when it comes to planning big time events. These are the songs that transcend time, that earn the title of masterpiece. Sitting aside these beautiful works on this celestial …

Today is a day for all to rejoice! Today is the day we celebrate the return of the ProgMau5. I personally haven’t been a fan of the latest Deadmau5 tracks, I was beginning to think he had lost his knack for production; apparently I was mistaken. “The Veldt” reminds me of when I was first discovering EDM; listening to his remixes of “We Are Not Alone” and “You and I”. This is the Deadmau5 I love, the beautiful melodic synth leads, the perfectly mixed vocals, and the inspiring lyrics are certainly a …

Last night Deadmau5 performed his hit single Raise Your Weapon live at the 2012 Juno Awards. A surprise to watchers, however, was that Greta Svabo Bech (who provided the vocals on the original mix) was absent and Canadian pop singer LIGHTS was in her place. Many listeners consider her addition to be significantly better, and I think I agree (except for that awful note she hit at 2:04).
Oh, and to all the dipshits hating on the “rapper” at the end – please realize this is MC Flipside who was featured …

Remember how deadmau5 held a competition for aspiring producers to come and learn from him during Miami Music Week? Well it was a rousing success with thousands of applicants and the publicity gained from it. The session, entitled “mau5hax” gave a chance for young producers to come and learn his tools of the trade, and out of that came these two brand spankin new tracks, “Fractals” and “Titty Sprinkles” I’m not entirely sure what to classify either track genre wise, but after listening to them, I’m not sure where the …
