Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites- Monome Style

Michael Sifeldeen apparantly has some tricks up his sleeve and this video demonstrates just  few of themt. He states on his Vimeo page that he has a surprise coming for us, but makes no mention as to what it may be.

Mixr – The iPad DJ Controller

When the iPad was released, my initial thoughts were: “So what, it’s a huge iPod, right?”. Well now that developers have had some time with it, I have been really impressed with what I have seen lately.

Learn How to Mix Like a Pro With the WD-1 Trainer

I recently stumbled across a pretty neat flash toy called the WD-1 Trainer. Essentially, it is a flash version of a physical loop-based mixer. In my opinion, it’s quite fun to play with and certainly gives you the feeling of building an electronic song, just as a live DJ would.

I have always been interested in DJing and mixing, but have never really given it a shot. I know I don’t have a career in it, but who says you can’t have some fun? I’ve been doing quite a bit of reading about “laptop DJing” – The act of DJing with digital music files and a virtual turntable and mixer. I’m using VirtualDJ which is hands down the best program.
